Ashley Kauschinger is a fine art photographer who creates autobiographical staged dramas. Her current focus is the investigation of daily life that results in ambiguous narrative images. She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Photo, and is currently studying with Susan kae Grant in pursuit of an MFA in photography from Texas Woman’s University.
Her most recent work, Hot Skin which deals with everyday life and the reflection of the past, present, and future. It flows through a set of themes including relationships, waking up, long distance communication, sex, domestic living, and moments of transition. A Series of Arches, Which presents the different types of fear, trust, and discovery that is reveled throughout a relationship. Her project, Our Brother, documents the return of a solider struggling from post traumatic stress after serving in Afghanistan.
